![]() What might be going on here? What specifically should I be looking for? Thanks. I uninstalled AI Suite III and that did not affect the issue. It was either always set to Auto or offset mode as a result of the Asus auto tweaking. I never manually adjusted the vcore voltage. This system build is very new, built on 9/14. I did not run into this anomaly until today after running auto O.C. I've had a stable system with a 15% over clock as a result of the UEFI BIOS auto tweaking over clock function and the AI Suite III 5 Point Optimization and this was with speed step enabled. I'm thinking this has to be a VCore settings problem but why would the cpu's turbo boost function normally with speed step disabled? I did not adjust any other settings in the CPU Internal Power Settings other than to disable speed step. I've had a normally functioning, stable cpu at 4.6 Ghz. With Speed Step disabled the turbo boost functions normally up to around 4.2 Ghz and the core voltage looking normal at around 1.38, the system is stable. With speed step enabled and a very low core voltage and extremely slow cpu frequency of around 800 MHz the system is stable. I then cleared the CMOS settings using the Clear CMOS settings button on the MOBO. ![]() I loaded the optimized defaults in Easy Mode then save and rebooted. Next, install Intel XTU from the setup you just downloaded. So, go to the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility webpage, check if your CPU is supported under the list of supported CPUs, and download the installer if the CPU checks out. I looked through the BIOS Setup and didn't find anything odd with any power settings. The first thing you need to do is download Intel XTU and install it. When running Heaven benchmark and other typical everyday tasks, the core multiplier doesn't get passed x 8.0 and the vcore only got up to 0.832V. With Intel Speed Step enabled the core multiplier gets up to x42 while running the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility cpu stress test.
